The hardest part of love is letting go.

   I just finished editing one of my short stories, Once Upon A Romance , and it was hard.    Even after all these years, it still brings up emotions. I can still recall her face and the way she talked.    In Once Upon A Romance , my main character, Mitchell, meets Dianne from Texas. They fall in love, and then, because of a family secret, she leaves.

You are special.

   I was just sitting in my car, just before work, revising the writing on my story "Once Upon A Romance", and a thought struck me.    "I'm amazed that I can do this. I am special." We all need to be reminded of our talents.    There is a song out there which dissatisfies me. The opening line reads "No one knows what it's like..." It dissatisfies me because it embraces one of the two mistakes I observe people making. People assume no one is like them, or they assume everyone is like them.    Yes, we are all "unique snowflakes", but every snowflake possesses a crystalline structure.     I examine the stories from my book, "I'll Try Anything Once" and immediately my mind plots ways to improve the sentences, to say what I wrote, but better. That is a talent I possess, which others might not.    I am reminded of my stepson. Charismatic, smart and thoughtful. When he was young, his mother warned...
