Living With Migraine

I had a friend who has a disease. This is the way she described her condition.    "Every day I wake up not knowing what is not going to work. It might be my arms, or my legs. One time it was my eyes." Living with a migraine is something like that.    I never know if today is going to mild, and I'm just exhausted from the fight. Or a typical day, when every step feels like I'm walking uphill. Or a horrible day, which is happening 4 days a month now, when all I want to do is sleep. I cannot understand how I can sleep 18 hours and wake up feeling tired.    The pressure in my head hardly stops. When it's bad, it's really bad. I've done physiotherapy, chiropracty, even accupuncture. I've been prescribed 6 different medications in the last year and a half. None of them worked.    I visited the hospital once. They gave me pain killers, then extra strength pain killers, then morphine. When not even morphine can touch the source of the pain, you know i...

The hardest part of love is letting go.

I just finished editing one of my short stories, Once Upon A Romance , and it was hard.    Even after all these years, it still brings up emotions. I can still recall her face and the way she talked.    In Once Upon A Romance , my main character, Mitchell, meets Dianne from Texas. They fall in love, and then, because of a family secret, she leaves.

You are special.

I was just sitting in my car, just before work, revising the writing on my story "Once Upon A Romance", and a thought struck me.    "I'm amazed that I can do this. I am special." We all need to be reminded of our talents.    There is a song out there which dissatisfies me. The opening line reads "No one knows what it's like..." It dissatisfies me because it embraces one of the two mistakes I observe people making. People assume no one is like them, or they assume everyone is like them.    Yes, we are all "unique snowflakes", but every snowflake possesses a crystalline structure.     I examine the stories from my book, "I'll Try Anything Once" and immediately my mind plots ways to improve the sentences, to say what I wrote, but better. That is a talent I possess, which others might not.    I am reminded of my stepson. Charismatic, smart and thoughtful. When he was young, his mother warned...

WordPress

FUSTRATION Hi.    I decided to investigate moving this blog to WordPress. I'm setting up the new page with the assistance of a YouTube step by step video.    The format for WordPress in the video is different than the format I'm looking at, so I am wasting time figuring out which section he is talking about. All the while imI thinking I should be editing "I'll Try Anything Once", or wishing he would get to something relevant.    Oh well, back at it.

Just came back from a 'working' camping trip with 2 of my favourite artists. I read four of my short stories to them and found some parts that need a minor re-write.
